Sharing some good news! I was recently selected as a winner of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG'S Rooftop Writers Initiative (in collaboration with the Jonathan Larson Grant & The Stephen Sondheim Foundation)! Writing my way into amazing spaces is new and unexpected, but I am so grateful to be here.

I submitted two pieces to this competition, a song called "Home" (https://youtu.be/sutyi7lV56U) and a response to the prompt, "Why do you write?"
Here's my response:
I hate rollercoasters,
but I love to write.
I love the delicate flirtation between
Creativity
and
Delusion.
Adrenaline builds
as an idea ascends toward the precipice of potential!
But
If we get too
attached,
too egotistical about it?
It teeters,
and tips the scale,
becoming comically exaggerated:
a mockery of truth.
Back to the bottom of the track we go
to see if
this time
we can stop the car at the top of the drop,
just long enough to bottle up its glory.
Amidst the coquetry between
Creativity
and
Delusion,
I'll find words
to befriend lonely hearts
like mine.
Thank you for reading. I am grateful for all the doors that are opening these days, and so excited to see what's next.
